Privacy Policy — mashNet

mash Home, Inc. (“mash”, “we”) provides the mashNet smart home platform. This policy explains what data the mashNet iOS app and the mashNet Nexus device collect, why, and how it is used.

Data we collect

Account data (collected directly from you):

• Email address — for account creation and sign-in.
• Account user ID — assigned at sign-up, links your devices to your home.

Device data (collected from your mashNet Nexus and synced to your account):

• Device identifiers (serial number, hardware model).
• Smart-home configuration (room names, device names, Matter device list).
• Operational telemetry (uptime, network connectivity status, software version, error rates).

Diagnostic data (collected automatically when the app or Nexus runs):

• Crash reports and performance traces (via Sentry).
• These are not linked to your account identity — we strip user identifiers before persisting.

We do not collect:

• Your location beyond identifying the WiFi network during setup.
• Audio, video, or images from your camera (the camera is used only on-device to scan setup QR codes — images are not stored or uploaded).
• Browsing history or activity outside the mashNet app.
• Advertising identifiers. We do not advertise.

How we use your data

• Provide the service — show your devices, sync settings, route control commands.
• Operate the platform — diagnose crashes, fix bugs, monitor reliability.
• Communicate with you — about your account, security, and service updates.

We do not sell your personal data. We do not use it for cross-context behavioural advertising.

Where your data lives

• Account data and home configuration: Amazon Web Services (AWS), US-East region.
• Diagnostic data: Sentry (sentry.io).
• Local device state: your mashNet Nexus, on your home network.

Your rights

You can:

• Sign out, removing the app’s local cache.
• Delete your account by contacting feedback@mash-home.com — we will delete your account data within 30 days.
• Remove a Nexus from your home in the app, which deletes its cloud-side configuration.

Children

mashNet is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

We will post material changes to this URL and update the “Last updated” date. For significant changes we will notify active users in-app.
